I was looking forward to this summer blockbuster. But it failed on every level to satisfy me. What a disappoinment! Review

I thoroughly enjoyed this one, being FAR better than I expected. Hanks delivers a fine performance and the story – a nice cross between Wall-E, Castaway and The Incredible Journey – never lost my interest. Review

A surprisingly solid movie blockbuster that delivers brilliantly on its promise. Tense, exciting and with star quality, this is a movie you definitely need to get out to a big screen to see. Recommended. Review

Yet, after its 5* opening, the messaging felt to me like I was being repeatedly slapped around the head by a soggy and blood soaked arm. Review

The convoluted plot is just so clever in warping the multiverse concept to its needs. I had a massive grin on my face for a lot of the movie, particularly when the various villains arrived! It’s a stunning bit of writing, with some extremely poignant call-outs to past movies in the series. Review

Does the movie quite deliver on a childlike joy of Homecoming? After watching both films again, I think not. But it only misses it by about 10 or 20%. It’s still a highly enjoyable romp. Review

It’s another cracker, hugely entertaining though much darker in tone to “Infinity War”. (I actually prefer the first film). Review

Right from the Colombia logo, this is a dazzling feast for the eyes and the ears. A movie that shimmers with visual inventiveness. It’s also extremely funny, with some cuttingly clever dialogue, knowing digs at some of the earlier Spider-Man incarnations and visual gags that Ted Avery and Chuck Jones would have been proud of. This is one hell of a roller-coaster of action/adventure entertainment. It is infused with great humour but has more than its share of Shakespearean pathos. Review

All in all this laid a really strong foundation for the Marvel/Spider-Man franchise. Review

The script is also uninspiring and seems to lack a lot of the ‘zing’ of the first film. There is a lot of ‘talky-talk’ between the characters that doesn’t really move the story along. It feels almost ad-libbed at times. Review

Although the villain-overload is its biggest crime, the movie also has failures in the special effects department. Review

CAlthough still full of the fun and action from the first movie, I don’t think it had quite the same level of carefree vim as the original. The story feels like it’s been written by a committee… which indeed it was! Review

Sam Raimi really delivers here a fabulous movie that keeps you thoroughly entertained for the whole of its running time. Review

I’m sure there are a whole army of people who truly love this movie. And I apologise in advance if my rating offends you. But, while I understand why it made a big impact during the summer of ’86, I genuinely found it to be a bit ‘ho hum’. A “classic film”? Not for me I’m afraid. Review

For Everything Everywhere All At Once is a movie that I found astonishing. But, I’m sad to say, also a little disappointing too. Review

A dramatic and moving tale that goes off in unexpected directions. It’s worth knowing as little as possible about the story before you go in (avoid the trailer if you can). Review

I don’t think this is a good film. But it’s a piece of harmless escapism: two hours of harmless, glossy cinema. In these desperately sad, disruptive and tumultuous times, it fills the same need as the recent Death on the Nile. Review

Like Melissa, despite being seductive alluring, this is one movie best to avoid dipping your nib in! Review

A real surprise of a movie, this wildly surpassed my expectations and I had a silly grin on my face from beginning to end. This comes with a Highly Recommended from me. Review

Would The Secrets of Dumbledore rise above the very low-bar set by The Crimes of Gindelwald. Thankfully, that’s a limited yes. Review
