There’s a lot to irritate you about this movie, but I’ve gone and given it three-and-a-half stars regardless. Because I really did enjoy the ride. This could have been a bit of a classic if some of the rough edges had been smoothed out. Review

This is a solid, well-made animated story that will keep the kids busy for an afternoon during the summer holidays. Review

It’s a classic film, and just SOOOOO good to see again on the big screen. Putting the rampant mysogyny to one side, its a comic treat that still delights nearly 65 years late. Review

I normally feel a bit let down by thrillers, but this one exceeded my expectations. A well-crafted twisty-turny script that always keeps you guessing. Review

Solid and predictable, this doesn’t break any new cinematic ground. As a park-your-brain horror thriller, it might appeal late on a Saturday night with a curry and a few beers. Review

But to me, overall this comes around a par with Fallout and so a tad below my personal favourite Rogue Nation. Review

The problem with Pixar is that I expect brilliance and perfection, and – personally speaking – this really didn’t hit that bar for me this time. Review

Its by no means a terrible film. But it’s another of those that I will struggle to remember in a few week’s time. Review

It’s a solid and well-filmed historical biopic, bringing to life the music of a forgotten black classical composer. Review

I really enjoy these ‘small’ and tight little thrillers, and I found this a good one. Review

Simply stunning. This is a must-see on the big screen, so if you haven’t yet, try to catch it fast before it slips through into the streaming universe. Review

No doubt about it, this is a solid action thriller. For me though, I slightly preferred the first film to this one. Review

Like this movie, it was gorgeous to look at. Indeed, it was brilliant in places. But overall a bit of a disjointed snore-fest. Asteroid City is thankfully a bit better than The French Dispatch but only marginally so. Review

It is a worthy summer blockbuster... Review

It’s light and fluffy and its not going to win any Oscars. But as a raunchy summer comedy film, of the likes of Booksmart or Sex Tape, matched with a deeper and thought-provoking story, it fitted the bill well for me. Review

I wanted to love this, I really did, and there can be no doubting the enthusiasm with which the cast (and indeed – in the finale – the whole population of Clitheroe!) throw themselves into the production. While it did occasionally entertain, the arc of the story made me feel distinctly “meh”. Review

If you can put Ezra Miller’s dodgy home-life aside, you – like me – may find this a well-made and entertaining superhero ride. It has its tongue firmly in its cheek at times but it is all the better for that. I was well-entertained. Review

As action movies go, this is a good one. Tense and exciting with some truly remarkable cinematography, editing and stuntwork. Review

It’s far from being a complete bust, and as a retread on some classic movies it makes for entertaining enough viewing. But it fails to find a beat of its own and as a result is constantly in the shadow of similar but much better movies. Review

As a film for adults, it remains watchable. Review
