Mena Massoud is a charmingly likeable Aladdin and his chemistry with Smith’s Genie is smooth and playful. Although, choppy editing and transitioning makes the film feel uneven.

Aladdin is dan ook een prima remake hoewel ik in het begin even moest schakelen. Je bent al snel geneigd om te gaan vergelijken, maar dat zal weinig goed doen. Om de klassieker uit de jaren ’90 te evenaren is een onmogelijke klus en het advies is dan ook om er blanco in te stappen.
