Annabelle Comes Home kent een prettige spanningsopbouw, maar levert in het vervolg van de film in op de geloofwaardigheid. Het is altijd fijn als een horrorfilm geen goedkope trucjes nodig heeft om de kijker aan het griezelen te krijgen. Wat ook goed werkt is dat het verhaal vrij eenvoudig is van opzet. Ondanks dat er weinig vernieuwing is, slaagt men er toch in om een onderhoudende film te creëren. Annabelle Comes Home is in dezelfde opzet als The Conjuring gemaakt en voelt in tegenstelling tot de voorgaande delen dan ook echt aan als een onderdeel van de inmiddels toch wel populaire franchise.
