Before You Know It

What an absolutely fantastic film. What writers Hannah Pearl Utt and Jen Tullock do with this script is fun, funny and features just enough heart.

. These are adult women struggling to figure out life. It’s a script wonderfully written and a film solidly directed. Sophie Hyde never lets the material get the best of her and instead tackles SO well.

An utterly breathtaking cinematic experience.

From the camerawork to the writing everything sort of coalesces. Jayne is ridiculously talented and if this show hits (as hard as I think it will) she’ll be a humongous star.

The humor was just not for me. Much of it was just far too obscure.

Simple storytelling is the order of the day. This movie is a stunner.

A saddening display of retelling an already told story. One that hasn’t been told well cinematically…at all.

Not very memorable but an interesting experience nonetheless.

It’s a love story that transcends time. I cannot do anything else but recommend this film, to you and everyone else.

Scattered, messy storytelling.

It’s a slight recommendation even if it doesn’t live up to the potential it had.

This film is a wonderful story that’s well told. All of the performances are top notch and Dano is certainly a new voice behind the lens that I’ll be paying attention to.

Robert Redford is simply mesmerizing here. His performance shows that even in his seventies this guy can pull off whatever role he asked for.

An Evening with Beverly Luff Linn

Plaza is bizarre, and so is this film. Robinson seems to be doing this weird grumbling sound and WHY he makes that noise isn’t explained. Unless you’re into the absolutely absurd this might prove a little too much.

Not as good as the first, though that feels like an unfair comparison. It is still a fun adventure, this time, in a new location.

Check it out if you’re interested in seeing Barinholtz’ directorial debut if not there are better films out there.

Night School

A comedy that is funny in parts but suffers from too much old hat by Kevin Hart.

This is one of those films where potential met talent and somehow it wasn’t AS good as I thought I’d be.

Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween

Where the original really sank its teeth into the various stories of Stine this focused on one. The problem was it wasn’t a good enough one.

Looking at the acting it is all pretty stellar. Giamatti and Hahn just feel like a couple. They are poignant and heartfelt at times, others times they fight with the furor of a real duo.

There are some jokes but a lot of them don’t hit. Nothing too interesting happens in the script and overall you walk away with a blase feeling about the whole thing.

This is a good ole fashion action flick! Bautista is believable and kicks all kinds of ass in this.
