With visuals THIS immersive and glorious, it’s worth extra points to compensate for the less-than-stellar writing. Review

Empire of Light is trite and somber, seriously lacking the magical quality and sparkle that the glorious poster promises. Review

It’s still a pretty impressive feature film debut, so I’m curious what Neugebauer would do next. Review

’s a handsomely mounted period drama with lovely costume design and gorgeous locations in Wales. The cinematography is light and airy, though the blue/green filter can be distracting. Isabella Summers‘ score has a dreamy quality though the music depicting high tension sounds too ominous at times. Review

Overall I had fun with this one and Hamm’s laid-back charm and great comic timing keep things afloat. Mad Men fans would get a kick out of seeing Hamm and John Slattery in a movie together, too! Review

It’s as haunting as it is soulful. It could very well be my favorite of his work to date. Review

Overall though, The Fabelmans lacks a certain kind of Spielberg magic, but still, it’s essential viewing for fans of his work. Review

Good Night Oppy feels like one of Steven Spielberg‘s sci-fi movies, except that it actually happened. This is definitely one of the best documentaries that are not only insightful but heartfelt, inspiring, and uplifting. Review

I do think the movie has some pacing issues and its running could’ve been trimmed down slightly. Overall this film is much better than I expected, thanks to the solid script, capable direction, and excellent performances of the two leads. ... Review

I can’t pretend to fully grasp what McDonagh’s trying to say here. There’s a Shakespearean influence in that the story starts out as a comedy and ends in a tragedy. I come away not as enamored with this film as I thought I would. It’s something I appreciate, even admire, but not love. Review

I quite like Andrea von Kampen‘s folk music, but the interaction between her and Paul Petersen lacks sparks or warmth, it even comes across as awkward at times. Review

I had fun with this movie and Karen Maine‘s direction is lively and upbeat. I adore the beautiful Tuscan scenery, I always appreciate movies filmed on location. The costumes and set pieces are wonderful to look at, too! Review

I love learning about Barry’s collaboration with two music legends – Dame Shirley Bassey and Louis Armstrong who sang some of the greatest Bond classics. Review

The story itself is pretty cute though the romance with Fred Astaire isn’t as convincing as Hepburn’s other films. Still it was charming enough and I really enjoy Kay Thompson‘s performance as the fashion editor. Review

Overall it’s just sensory overload with too much bombastic animated action, the story runs out of steam fast and frankly, I’m tired of seeing/hearing Michelle Yeoh being cast a Kung-Fu expert, come on Hollywood she’s SO much more versatile than that. Review

Efron displays such an earnest quality that makes the character’s inherent foolishness endearing. Russell Crowe has a brief but memorable appearance as a war journalist. Review

I think the film has the potential of being quite profound, but in the end, I struggle to connect with Tana and her journey. Still, I’m glad I saw this and it’s well worth my time just to see Gladstone’s performance. Review

It’s so rare to see a movie like Marcel which is endearingly funny and has a surprisingly emotional depth, yet still suitable for the whole family. It’s full of wit without resorting to crude/raunchy humor, and that alone is quite a feat. Review
