I can't in good conscience recommend it, except to those who solely enjoy superhero movies for the action scenes, and particularly if you like bloody and violent R-rated action. Review
Venom: The Last Dance shows what happens when you let a perfectly cast actor and a director with a lot of affection for the character run wild in a world of Marvel superheroes. You get a movie that's a little weird, a lot silly, and full of fun. Review
The Instigators is Damon and Affleck's movie, and they carry it well. It's not the slickest action comedy, and may not necessarily be worth a trip to the cinema during the movie's limited theatrical release, but it's certainly worth a watch if you're intrigued by the premise. Review
Deadpool & Wolverine is a movie made to be a crowd-pleaser, and it succeeds in that respect. It puts the Marvel multiverse to work, using the concept in smart, economical ways to include references that run the gamut. It may not work for everyone, but after a few multiverse disappointments, Deadpool & Wolverine far exceeded my expectations. Review
Though not Guy Ritchie's best film, The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare has enough slick style and exhilarating action to be a helluva fun ride. Review
With an awful script and not a single ounce of charm among the star-studded cast, Madame Web feels like little more than a Spider-Man movie knockoff. Review
Matthew Vaughn's latest riff on the spy genre, Argylle, is a fun experience, despite problems with its character development and overwrought story. Review
Aquaman & The Lost Kingdom is as goofy and adventurous as the first movie, but tries too hard for a seriousness it can never achieve with Jason Momoa. Review
The Marvels is an uproariously fun and action-packed comic book movie that's made all the more delightful by the heartwarming dynamic of the leads. Review
The Flash is a passable multiverse superhero movie, but no amount of DC cameos can make audiences forget the awful off-screen actions of Ezra Miller. Review
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is phenomenal from start to finish, raising the stakes, emotion and heart with beautiful artistic animation. Review
Fast X is a breathless thrill ride that occasionally gets bogged down in melodramatic dialogue, but Jason Momoa's villain makes it a blast to watch. Review
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 mixes Gunn's usual wacky action and laugh-out-loud humor with a grounded, emotional story to create something special. Review
The Super Mario Bros. Movie is chock-full of Nintendo Easter eggs—to the detriment of the story and its characters, which lack any real substance. Review
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is a solid start to the MCU's Phase 5, working well to serve Scott Lang's story and introduce the menacing Kang. Review
Teen Wolf: The Movie tries to capture the magic of the original show, but though many original cast members returned, it falls short of the mark. Review
Enola Holmes 2 continues the tradition of cozy mystery from its predecessor, with delightful performances from Millie Bobby Brown and Henry Cavill. Review
Zoey Deutch shines as the (mostly) unlikable lead in Not Okay, an incisive and entertaining satire of social media influencers and fame. Review
Though DC League of Super-Pets tries to impart lessons about friendship and vulnerability, the characters and story outside Krypto feel half-baked. Review
The Gray Man is a spiritual throwback to 80s/90s action movies, with pulse-pounding fight scenes, delightfully cheesy dialogue & wickedly fun villain. Review
The Bob's Burgers Movie struggles to keep up the energetic pace set early on, but overall packs in plenty of jokes and musical numbers for a fun time. Review
Along for the Ride captures the magic of young adulthood and first love, delivering a relatable coming of age story with a sweet romance. Review
Despite a fine performance from Jared Leto, Morbius is a painfully mediocre superhero origin story, delivering a shallow recreation of better movies. Review
