In terms of plot this may not be the most exciting story put to paper. Indeed, after a fresh, interesting beginning the film can lull at times, hindered mostly by two-dimensional bad guys. Review
Is T2 original? Hell no! It doesn’t pretend to be. It is a continuation, simultaneously transposing the same comedic nihilistic lens to look at the absurdity of our modern lives and addictions. Review
If you’re willing to mentally check out and gloss over the few inconsistencies, The Final Chapter is well worth the 106 minutes of adrenaline and violence. Review
While characters, environment and plot are all integral to a movie’s success, what distinguishes Moonlight as not just a great film but a sublime one are the technical aspects. Review
Making up for a shaky start, the ending is sublime story telling. Review
What the film does not do is really give you a sense of who Sergei is. Review
This is mindless and highly fun entertainment for the blood nerds. Review
At times self-referential , fourth wall breaking, and at others a stinging critical analysis, Lee has constructed an unapologetically clever film. Review
The holes are just too big for the film to really make any sense, the plot isn’t that interesting, and the editing and direction is too jerky and scattered. Review
The Student is a thematically rich film and beautifully shot, however isn’t the easiest watch. Review
The problems dealt with within the film are pressing and wholly legitimate, but the brush Loach uses slathers and overflows with overt sentimentality. Review
The Magnificent Seven may not live up to the classics that inspired its rebirth but it is an excuse for a magnificent cast to show off their prowess with echos of classic western genre tropes. Review
Whilst it lacks the verity and uneasy psychological undercurrent of the original, Blair Witch makes up for it with a multitude of heart thudding jump scares and exponentially building creepiness. Review
This is an enriching complete film with a depth of beauty and themes for any viewer to extrapolate from. Review
For the most part the film is directionless and slow moving. Review
Alvarez breaks new ground with his cinematic techniques to replicate pitch darkness. With a myriad of jump scares contained within constant building psychological tension Don’t Breathe isn’t one to miss for horror aficionados. Review
Even though the film severely lacks the drama, tragedy and scale of the ’59 classic, it does have going for it the typical Hollywood high stakes thrills. Review
Regardless of the film’s flaws it’s hard to fault the overall product too heavily. Review
The Second Mother won’t be the most fast paced film of 2016, but all the better for a movie which shines in unspoken moments. Review
I can’t proclaim to be a Star Trek nerd myself, having only watched the latest films, but the characters are enthralling and it’s not hard for even a newcomer to become enamored with them. Review
Resurgence is enjoyable popcorn entertainment for the brain but with a strong artificial tone to its construction. Review
Above all else the script and writing deserve accolades. Review
Black finds humor in both the mundane and the extraordinary at any and every turn aided mostly by Gosling’s delivery. Review
