Despite the extremely dark material, the Russian revolution and war as the backdrop, gruesome surgeries, this show finds great humor in it all.
Gerard McMurray treats this as a descent into hell, convenient since the film ends with Hell Night, the night where pledges finally become brothers.
It is intriguing to say the least, unlike anything on TV, which turns out a blessing and curse. But an interesting one nonetheless.
The movie has the most fun with the small North Carolina town hick jokes, but you can't base a film on that.
