Despite my quibbles, I am glad that I saw this on the big screen. Mr. Malcolm’s List has plenty to offer to period drama fans and seeing it with my best friend who loves this genre as much as I did is especially delightful. Review

It has its moments but it’s not a terribly engaging movie. It was still worth a watch, featuring a young Timothée Chalamet a year before his career-changing role in Call Me By Your Name. Review

I quite enjoyed it despite not knowing much about poker. The script is sharp and engaging, Chastain is magnetic and it’s always great seeing Idris Elba on screen as her attorney. Review

The second movie is just as intense though I’m not sure it’s as effective as the first. Review

I don’t think this one is worth the hype compared to CODA in terms of its writing however, while it’s pretty enjoyable, it doesn’t leave a lasting impression on me. That said, it’s well worth a watch and I’m curious what Raiff will do next. Review

Elvis may not get the chance to make A Star Is Born, but a star IS born with Austin Butler playing Elvis. Review

It’s even rarer that the script, direction, and performances all mesh so well together in a light, breezy 1 hour 37 minutes! Review

Lightyear feels more Disney than Pixar, and it reeks ‘lucrative IP milking’ rather than making something from the heart. I wouldn’t go so far as calling Lightyear a misfire, but definitely doesn’t soar to infinity, let alone beyond. Review

Nick and Brooke end up learning from each other over the course of the night, and the tentative romance between them feels earnest. The gorgeous Manhattan backdrop certainly adds to the charm. Review

In short, gone is the sense of wonder that began 29 years ago, what’s left is doldrums and dread of seeing a once-fascinating IP become so, so insipid. Review

Top Gun: Maverick delivers the spectacle and thrills it promises… deftly mixing unapologetic nostalgia and stimulating action that should satisfy fans of the original and win new ones. Review

I equate watching Downton Abbey to having a relaxing afternoon tea with friends… it’s a comforting endeavor while you let yourself be buoyed by mild, genteel entertainment Fellowes has mastered to perfection. Review

I really enjoy this one despite some sluggish moments. I guess I don’t mind slow-burn type films with heavy dialog, so long as it’s well-crafted and the performances are engaging. Pine and Newton are such charismatic actors on top of being very easy on the eye. Review

This Doctor Strange sequel just feels a bit too much for me… so many things hurled at you all at once in maddening speed. So despite some memorable scenes and good performances, this movie isn’t one I’m keen on watching again anytime soon. Review

Husson’s direction, lensed by Jamie Ramsay, is beautiful to look at, but I wish it were more affecting. Drenched in melancholy, the few poignant moments are only a few and far in between. Review

I was more enamored by Michelle Yeoh than the movie itself. There’s a sensory overload from the myriads of ideas being erratically thrown together that the familial and philosophical themes often get lost amidst the chaos. That said, I applaud the originality of the filmmakers’ vision and the inventive filmmaking style. Review

The Lost City doesn’t earn brownie points for originality, but this is a prime example where the fun rapport of the cast can elevate a so-so script. Review

Instead of exciting and suspenseful, I find the movie tedious and overly slow. It’s less than 2 hours long but definitely feels longer and the mind games are neither tense nor chilling. Review
