If you love insanity on films that barely make sense but are a quirky acid-noir trip then Under the Silver Lake is a film for you.
Spider-Man: Far From Home could possibly be the greatest live-action Spider-Man movie ever released. It was perfectly timed and more than just a Spidey movie, it is the MCU bridging film between Phase 3 and Phase 4 of the MCU and it delivers on everything we love about the MCU and Spider-Man.
A great popcorn movie if you love watching UFC between mountain-sized monsters. Just ignore the humans and the screenplay and everything else is awesome. The visuals, the art design, and the music demand the biggest and loudest screen you can find and the action is oftentimes truly epic!
It is one of the best films I have ever seen and I cannot rave enough about it.
Brightburn is a fun horror movie with a super-anti-hero as the lead but it fails to utilise its potential with a psychopath who can fly anywhere and destroy anything. It is gory as all hell with fantastic performances. It’s good, it’s just not brilliant.
Miranda Tapsell and Gwilym Lee are literally perfect together with chemistry on and off screen that warms the heart.
Shazam! is out now and it is one brilliant light-hearted superhero movie that is made for the family. It feels like Spielberg stepped back in time and directed an 80s superhero movie with all the technology of current times. I loved this film.
Us is bloody brilliant but it didn’t reach the level of greatness of Get Out as a complete package. As a visually sublime mind assault it is one of the best films of the year but there was more lacking in Peele’s second horror outing.
Go and see DESTROYER for a powerhouse direction from Karyn Kusama and to see Nicole Kidman’s 36yrs of acting skills come together to blow the screen away.
A powerful and engaging survival thriller based on the true terrorist events that took place in the Taj Mahal Hotel in 2008.
The movie has all the best of the MCU in it and is a wonderful new hero I cannot wait to see more of in the MCU story arc.
It is not a blockbuster, but it is a nuanced masterpiece of human survival and the world needs nothing more in their lives right now than Mads Mikkelsen going into battle with Mother Nature.
Visually it is a masterpiece worthy of awards but arrogance at expecting it to be one of the biggest blockbusters of the year sees the film with an ending so unsatisfying it borders on criminal.
One of the most difficulty haunting but also beautiful movies you will see in your lifetime.
A little too shiny and Hallmarkish but it still gives a powerful look into the state of race relations in the U.S.A.. A film that should be compulsory viewing for all school students and police officers in the States.
A fantastically decent drug-problem dramatic film. The plot is a little confused at times but the performances are one hell of a strong back bone holding it all together.
A documentary masterpiece of one inspirational and lovable real life Spider-Man.
A decent movie but it is far from being a great movie. I would see this one if you’re a massive Clint fan or want a slow paced rainy day movie which misses the destination but has an enjoyable journey getting there.
I was expecting very little and was thoroughly impressed by this modernised family Excalibur fantasy quest film. It had a good message, a wonderful plot and a script a thousand times better than Aquaman.
Is it as good as the original? No. Is it a good film? Yes.
An ideal family movie for these school holidays. The movie is as cute as it is entertaining and educational, I cannot recommend it enough.
Does offer the best visuals in the series and gives the audience a more than acceptable conclusion to the heartwarming adventures of Toothless, Hiccup and the inhabitants of Berk.
Relying solely on a hot mangod and some epic CGI makes a quick buck but leaves a quickly faded-from-memory paint by numbers piece of trash.
A science fiction masterpiece. It keeps you on the edge of your seat and has some truly horrifying scenes, superb visuals and an arresting soundtrack. But best of all this movie will keep you thinking long after the credits roll.
