Hoewel de achtergronden van de hoofdprotagonisten aan bod komen is er voor mijn gevoel toch een gebrek aan karakterontwikkelingen. Daarnaast zijn er veel meer personages die interessant zijn, maar Minghella heeft niet de moeite genomen om dat goed uit te werken.
