De trilogie is een amusant popproject dat de nostalgie overstijgt door zelfreflectie. Voornaamste kritiekpunt is dat het allemaal wat langgerekt is: welbeschouwd had het hele verhaal inclusief flashbacks misschien net zo goed in twee films of zelfs één film verteld kunnen zijn.
