Sputnik is misschien niet origineel, maar beter goed gejat dan slecht bedacht. In de uitvoering weet deze film namelijk behoorlijk wat pluspunten te scoren met spanningsopbouw, een leuk ontwerp van de alien en een cast welke aan elkaar gewaagd is waardoor je als kijker ook meegaat in het verhaal waarbij de vraag rijst wie nu eigenlijk het grootste monster is.
