This was a bit of a surprise for me and one that had me really surprised and thankful to have been through the experience of this pretty good comedy. Novak is gold from a writing standpoint and I’d love to watch more stuff he’s written down put on my screen. Review

This is a film working against it’s best intentions. Such a slog to get through I wanted to check my watch several times throughout. Review

What I got was an utterly disappointing animated feature. One I can’t even call run of the mill because it’s so bad. It’s not well animated and it’s quite bland to look at. Review

It’s a coming of age tale told from a unique and rather interesting perspective. One that isn’t often seen much. It’s well acted and well directed. Review

The script is a jumbled, cliche-riddled mess, Song and O’Connell have no chemistry and the whole thing would be a lot more interesting if it was just a painted wall drying for a thankfully short 85 minutes. Review

A fantastic surprise coming out of Tribeca this is one that I didn’t know what to expect. What I got was a film that explores a culture I wasn’t familiar with. Review

I wanted to like this but the action wasn’t good enough to warrant the absurdity of the overall narrative. Joey King is fine but, like honestly she needs better projects. Review

This film lives and dies on the performance of its lead actress Alexandria Trewhitt. Luckily for this film, her wit and charm carry the material (which was already pretty good). Review

Insofar as animated films in 2022 go this is one that exists and its purpose is soul-sucking profits. Review

J. Smith-Cameron is so good here as Clemence’s mother Sherri. She’s the heart of the film and I saw a lot of my very own mother in Sherri. This film comes highly recommended. Review

Solid recommendation for this comedy…even if it’s funny only most of the time. Review

This is a really interesting film. It seems like Lanthimos-lite. It has quirky and strange characters who have more sinister intentions. Review

By the numbers. That’s the best way to explain this one. Two dueling suitors is a trope that many romcoms utilize and sometimes it can be done in such a way that it really does work. Review

What a masterful piece of documentary filmmaking. For anyone around my age seeing this show discussed in such a way is an almost cathartic experience. Review

Joseph Kosinski is proving to be an absolutely stellar director. When you look up and down his filmography one thing is clear he is excellent at telling stories on and about the human condition. Review

Putting the biases (both personal and the ones portrayed here) aside the documentary itself spotlights a figure in modern history that is divisive and controversial to an epic degree. Review
