Even though it’s a pleasant, great to look at, naturalistic movie about relationships, it’s not one that really moved my meter in terms of ‘feelings’. Not a film I will remember in a few weeks aside from the great central performance by Lily Collias, who could be a big future star. Review

This film deserves great praise for being both intriguing and well-delivered by Babak Anvari. Coming in at only 80 minutes and presumably having a very low budget, it is a welcome addition to this month’s cinema releases. Review

There is a good 90-minute film in here. ‘Simplify the cast somewhat and trim 30 minutes off the run-time and try again’ would be my message to the filmmakers. Review

This is a beautiful film. You might say, “it’s a catch”. (Pun intended.)... Review

It’s a mixed bag, made slightly disappointing because I thought the premise promised much more than it delivered. But it’s got some interesting angles and is well worth your time. Review

This is a terrific popcorn film and, for once, a Marvel film I enjoyed immensely. I urge you to try to see it on the big screen, where it is genuinely impressive. Review

It has a clever premise and a plot that requires you to really pay attention. But the film is tonally disjointed and went downhill with an ending I just found plain silly. Review

I thought it was fine and entertaining enough. But in no way memorable (there wasn’t even an upside down jigsaw to remember it by!). Review

I found this a really fine surprise. A tight, 90-minute thriller that actually intrigued and actually thrilled. Given it’s technial aspects, it would not look amiss among one of the Black Mirror series. Review

This film was an excellent watch and one that I would highly recommend. If you liked Notting Hill, American Beauty or Ted (minus the crude jokes) then you will probably warm to this one. The characters were well written and complex. Review

It’s loud, frenetic and exhausting. But its also a lot of fun: something that the young can really enjoy and the old can, at a minimum, endure! I thought it was very funny and it made for a memorable cinema trip with young Jack. Review

A stone-cold classic about stone-cold killers. It’s a film that’s eminently rewatchable, and yet another delight to see on the big screen again. Review

Films like this are bold and different and that is to be celebrated. It’s impressively done. It just didn’t really fully work for me: but it might do for you. Review

An instant classic. A film that I can not only watch time and time again, but one that I genuinely get excited about watching (yet) again. It was simply brilliant to see it again on the big screen. Review

A film that tonally doesn’t seem to be sure what it’s going for. When it is suspensful and intriguing it is quite good, but then it screws the landing. It remains quite a fun popcorn movie though. Review

I’m always desperate to see something different at the cinema and in that regard Ryan Coogler certainly delivered. It’s not perfect in my view. But Sinners is one of the most innovative films of the year so far and a rollicking good watch. Review

I think it could have been done better, but it’s certainly a different type of film to take your young ‘uns to over the Easter holidays compared to A Minecraft Movie. Review

It’s a perfectly enjoyable watch and one that ‘silver-screeners’ will no doubt enjoy. But – for me – it was nothing particularly special or memorable. Review

Just so innovative in its day and still a great watch, it really has to be a 5-star film. Review

A real disappointment. A concept and a star that promised so much, let down by a poor script and a truly ridiculous damp-squib of an ending. Review

It’s a solid biopic. Not one I would necessarily rush back to to watch again, but interesting and informative and with strong central performances. Review
