The Dead Don't Die is vaak hilarisch en heel soms zelfs creepy. Toch blijft het totaalplaatje erg rommelig. Het is een genot om Adam Driver en Bill Murray samen te zien als twee broodnuchtere agenten, maar de film houdt zich aan geen enkele regel waardoor het geheel niet alleen onvoorspelbaar maar ook ongrijpbaar wordt.
