At 145 minutes though, it takes its time telling its story, and I think a tighter, shorter film would have worked better. Review

As a true-life spy story, the movie is interesting and Cumberbatch’s performance is brilliant. But I can’t say that I was 100% grabbed by it. Review

It’s a blast that I enjoyed immensely. There is little original under the movie sun, and this is no exception. It strays significantly into Spielberg’s Ready Player One, especially towards the end of the movie. But I personally found the closest resonance was with Peter Weir’s peerless The Truman Show. Zac Snyder’s glossy zombie flick is a valiant attempt, and it has its moments. The story neatly blends a zombie apocalypse with an Oceans heist movie. You even get some stirring Die Hard-style vault opening music! But a weak script and a flabby running time make this rather hard work to get through in one sitting. Review

I’d mentally set myself up to really hate this one. But the opposite turned out to be true. As a comedy it made me laugh like a drain at times, and although some of the violence went somewhat over the top for me, I thought it to be a fine summer popcorn blockbuster (but very much for adults). Review

A solid piece of movie storytelling, whether controversial or otherwise. And Recommended. Review

This is an ‘old-fashioned’ film that will appeal to an older age group, looking for style, romance and escapism. It reminded me in turns of movies like The Two Faces of January and The Age of Adeline in its mood and presentation. Review

It’s a diverting enough movie, with fabulous views of the Dominican Republic. A “less is more” approach might have made this a classic. But unfortunately, that’s not what Shyamalan delivered here. Since what we get is a ‘Lost-lite’ with farcical elements. Review

It has a style about it that is unmistakable. I had no idea where it was going, and the denouement was surprising and satisfying. Review
