Mede te danken aan het meer dan uitstekende acteerwerk van onder andere Sofia Boutella en Romain Guillermic die beiden zeer imponerend spelen en geloofwaardige personages neerzetten. Echter dankt Climax de goede beoordeling voor een groot deel aan de unieke wijze waarop Gaspar Noé zijn spraakmakende verhaal in beeld brengt.
